This story was inspired by a true event that I learned about in a forensic psychology class years ago–how three teenagers were coerced into confessing to a crime they didn’t commit. That led to guidelines that would help prevent these kinds of false confessions. I thought about this for a long time and came up with the idea for TRUST and a couple that is about to get married, when a murder of a student in their small town puts the spotlight on that student’s teacher, Lauren.
